Digital vs Traditional

"A Musician" 2011

Here is a loose, textural scan I had experimented with.  The next image is a digital painting.  I'm still working out the pros, cons, and in-betweens of my illustration media.  I like the slickness in certain areas, but I like the roughness of my painted image.  Looking for a balance.

DAMN! that top image is so good - loving the colors, rendering, all that. Is that your final?

and word on finding an illustration style - i'm currently trying to figure that out myself

this came out dope. and about the brushes, well, I dont use a specific brush. it's whatever does the job really. my brushes are always changing.
